How much information can I get from an English death certificate?
Q. I'm trying to find out what part of Ireland my ancestor (born in 1801) was born in. She appears in English census records in 1841 (the earliest census) and her children were born in England. She died in England in 1846, probably near Kingsthorpe, Northamptonshire. To trace much further back I need to know what part of Ireland she was from although based on her surname (Atkinson) I think she was probably from Ulster area. Does anyone know if I can find out where she was born from her English death certificate?

A. I'm surprised you only got one answer: It weill tell where she died (hospital, home),her full name & age,the husbands name if married, what she died of,who was with her when she died eg:daughter, son, what date the death was registered and where.

Is the name of the hospital where someone died listed on the death certificate?
Q. We are trying to find my husband's father. His Aunt has the death certificate but won't let us see it. If I request a death certificate from the state of California, will it have the name of the hospital on it? We cannot find him in the obituaries.
